Deconstructing a building without disturbing the customers of the most luxurious shops or guests of the Hotel de Paris, in coordination with a Formula 1 Grand Prix and illustrious neighbours, was by no means an easy task. After covering the building with special protective scaffolding equipped with an external metal cladding, Despe went on to perform gradual and silent deconstruction using soundproof systems. This project won the prestigious ‘Urban award’ at the ‘World Demolition Awards’ in 2016 held in the US.
