Edipower station

Turbigo | Italia

Performing the demolition of part of a power station while the remaining parts continue operations as usual requires exceptional technical and logistical skills. The project involved a massive use of lifting equipment to dismantle and bring to the ground 4 heat recovery systems, the related fume ducts and a 100m four-flue chimney, all made of metal structural elements. Dismantling was crucial to perform the safe ground level removal of the mineral wool insulation with which the plant systems were covered. This project was in the shortlist at the ‘World Demolition Awards’ in 2012.
