The challenge was to demolish an iron Blast Furnace weighing 7,000 tons without the use of explosives, protecting the environment, the adjacent building that housed reclamation plant systems and houses standing just 60 metres away. Despe made the industrial structure collapse using a thrust hydrodynamic system controlled by a PLC computer, achieving a collapse devoid of most of the side effects common to explosive materials. The whole furnace collapsed within seconds without creating any form of damage.
